About the Unit

Description
Welcome to gorgeous "Casa Arabesque" !!
A refreshing tropical garden awaits behind the street door to Casa Arabesque. One is tempted to pause and enjoy the ginger flowers, the lush Bougainvillea and the ripening bananas but there is much more to see and luxuriate in. Open the private entry and a delight for the eyes awaits!
Interesting fabrics and rugs; antique furniture and visual art pieces, and fun Mexican pottery to entertain with. The centerpiece of the living area is a gentle bubbling fountain set in a tiled shallow pool. It quiets the mind and refreshes the sense.
There are so many surprises to discover!

The guest bedroom is vibrant with color and personality .
An authentic handwoven spread on the bed with a custom made carved headboard and lushly embroidered pillows is absolutely eye catching. It is a fiesta in fabric!
Windows on two sides open to the garden and cooling breezes.

The accompanying bathroom is fun and so delightful to use.
It is decorated with red and blue pasta tile.
But most of all it is spacious, and luxurious with the large shower area looking onto the private garden. There is absolutely no sense of confinement. It is a total pleasure to stand under the rain shower.

Entering the master bedroom, one may have the sensation of stepping into a beautiful room out of "The Arabian Nights". It's predominant color is cooling and soothing yellow. It has the coveted addition of an extended sitting area where one may lie on a hand painted chaise to read or have a siesta, but opening your eyes you are drawn to the patio and pool and may be just as tempted to slip into the water. Ahhh...

This home is a private oasis; but also lends itself to great entertaining.
There is plenty of room, spaces that are inviting and guest friendly.
The outdoor cooling pool is beautiful, as is the unique fountain inside the living area.
Anyone would love to relax here, return here, and call it a personal tropical hideaway in a lovely city. It is without a doubt luxury! Everything is new and of top quality. . You I'll love to call it your very own casa for a stay in Merida!

This location provides the best of both worlds, 10 minutes to Centro and 10 minutes to North Merida with beautiful shopping malls, cinemas and the new Mundo Maya Museum. Casual and fine dining within a 5 minute walk.

If you choose not to rent a car Uber is very active and inexpensive. We love it!
This is a great base for day trips to see the ruins of Chichen Itza, Ek Balaam and Uxmal. Stop at the bakery on Paseo Montejo for fresh pastries for the road.
Centro is full of culture and on the weekends the streets are closed to traffic so the party can spread out. Saturday night is Noche de Mexicana at the end of Paseo, a continuous flow of dancers and singers and local venders.

The museums off the square are free or you can wander into the cathedral or the Macay Art Museum
I highly recommend taking a day to go out to the working hacienda Sotuta de Peon and experience life at the turn of the century in the country, then visit Quinta Montes Molina, the beautiful city home on Paseo Montejo.

Celestun offers a spectacular boat ride out into the mangroves where you will marvel at the pink flamingoes, pelicans and you may catch sight of a crocodile.
If you prefer a quiet day to relax at home by the lounge pool there is a cocina economica on the corner for a typical Yucatecan lunch and the price is right! Later on walk over to one of the nice restaurants on Jose Bolio. I recommend Villa Italia, Bruno's or Acqua.
